We serve every guest as if our own loved ones were sitting at the table. The building that houses our restaurant was built in the 1880s. At the turn of the century, it was home to the Café ITALIA – a landmark where the people of Sopron sipped their very first steaming espresso. Over the years, it hosted a dance school, a tavern, and a garden with live gypsy music – it was the place where people met, ate, drank, and celebrated together. We have reimagined this historic space in a way worthy of its past. After a complete renovation, we can now welcome nearly 180 guests
– whether in our atmospheric interior or in the charming garden, embraced by lush greenery. On the building’s façade, the statue of Ferenc Deák symbolizes the harmony of renewal and tradition. At Deák, we believe that true hospitality is not just about food, but about experience, attentiveness, and community. The Italian atmosphere here is not a stage set but a way of life – with lanterns, candlelight, pleasant music, quality drinks, and delicious dishes served with a warm smile. As proud locals, we offer only carefully selected wines from Sopron – accompanied by award-winning pálinka from Hegykő and Sopron’s own beer.
